Assessing a Readiness for Partnership

Before beginning work, you and your partners should agree to conduct an evaluation of your readiness for partnership. Consider the following questions during your self-assessment.

  • Are you ready to participate equitably and with respect and humility?
  • What do you hope to get out of this partnership? Do you have a shared vision and goal?
  • What are your expectations?
  • Do you have project resources available including staff time?
  • How will your partnership benefit the community?
  • How will your partnership benefit academia?
  • Does your partnership and project have financial support?
  • What is the end-product from your partnership?
