Think about your product's security at the beginning, and then don't stop. Having a security strategy in place from inception (and through every phase of product development and rollout) will better protect your product, users, and organization.
The Plan in Action
Have a security expert on your project team, or at least have the ability to consult with one as you develop business requirements and start building your product. Fold security into your quality assurance process, and be sure to train users on all security aspects when using your product.
